Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and sympathy. My Dad and I are … well, we’re coping as best we can. Which means we’re getting on with doing what needs to be done, and occasionally staring off into space or getting teary-eyed. I am trying to settle back into the routine of my usual life (dayjob, writing, and so on), because that’s going to be what helps me the most...

My Mom passed away at 9:29PM, on January 20, 2011. My Dad was holding her hand and telling her that we loved her. Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers.

Mom update
She’s still in ICU, and will be for a while. Dad visits her every day, I go visit every other day or so. I DO believe she will recover, it’s just going to take a lot of time. My family appreciates the wishes and prayers you’ve all been sending. Thank you very much.

Much the same as yesterday. I am going to go visit her tomorrow evening and tell her that she’s in people’s thoughts.

Daily Mom update
Still on the ventilator, still in ICU. But her doctor says she IS making progress every day, and Dad says that she squeezed his fingers when he asked her to, so she’s starting to become a little more lucid. I’m going to keep praying and wishing.

Just an FYI, I’m going to return to slowly posting pretty photos here, as distractions and routines are a REALLY GOOD thing for me right now.

She’s back on the ventilator and still sedated, but looks better than she did on Tuesday.

She’s been taken off the big ventilator (yay!), but still in ICU. I’m heading out to visit her in a few minutes. Thank you, everyone, for keeping us in your thoughts.
