I don’t think this photo is from any of his Dracula movies, actually. But it’s a great photo.

::boggles:: Oh my, Nathan Fillion would make a fabulous Quincy Morris, wouldn’t he? Quick, someone make a good Dracula mini-series.

Yes, the Coppola Dracula has its flaws. But all in all, it’s a very pretty movie.

Dracula signet ring. ::sobs:: Oh, how I covet this. However, at £198.00, my budget says no. But lovely to dream about! Someday, someday my pretty, you will belong to ME.

Via oulbots:

So it seems the Oscars forgot to include the amazing talent of Eiko Ishioka in their memoriam section. You could say I’m a little miffed, what with her having actually won an Oscar in 1992 for her work in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

So if the Oscars will so easily forget her, I won’t. I could always spot her costume designs. They were amazing, like a painting come to life. When I heard she had passed, I was heartbroken. Her costumes were what made me really pay attention to every aspect of a movie.  R.I.P. Eiko Ishioka, 1938-2012

So pretty! (Yes, vial of “blood” and a Dracula reference, stamp my cliche card now. Whatever, it shouldn’t be a surprise that I like this necklace.) The Heart of Mina necklace by TragicallyAdorned on Etsy.

Contemporary reviews of Dracula

nosuchthingtoday:

A site with all the contemporary reviews of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, ranging from 1897 to 1901. Excellent reading, especially with gems like this cropping up.

“He finds himself shut up in a half ruined castle with a host who is only seen at night and three beautiful females who have the misfortune to be vampires. Their intentions, which can hardly be described as honourable, are to suck his blood, in order to sustain their own vitality.”

Oh god, I can’t stop laughing.

::sobs:: Look! A 1st edition of Dracula for a mere $12,125.00! A far more reasonable price than the $63,000 price tag on another auction!

Yes, I occasionally torture myself by seeing what vintage and antique editions of Dracula are currently on eBay. No, I don’t really know why I do this to myself. But oh! Isn’t it pretty?
