Someday I’ll get a manicure and have my nails painted like this. Because there is no way my hands are steady enough to do it myself.

Ah-ha! So the Polishaholic came up with the basic idea of a velvet manicure back in March! Using flocking powder from the craft store. I’ve got to admit, I like the look of the velvet powder better, and I don’t know if I’d be willing to go to that much trouble for a manicure that would last one day, but it’s still an interesting notion.

Velvet. Manicure. I’m beting this could be DIY’d by creating my own jar of velvet fuzz (easy, just shred some velvet), then brushing the fuzz over damp polish. I bet it wears off super fast, but I still may give it a try.

kayliafisher:Translation from page: cut squares of newsprint larger than nails. apply a base coat of polish. when nails are completely dry, soak them in alcohol, then press newsprint on nail and slowly pull off. top coat to seal.
